My rally 200 is leaking 2 stroke oil from the resevoir. Willis says that i need to tighten up the leaking spot.
- drain gas
- remove air box
- unhook fuel line
- unhook choke cable
- unbolt tank
- remove
-access and fix
Am I missing anything here? The last thing I want to do is mess up my scoot!!
Geoff has it about covered, bottom nut, hose, or sight glass. Very rarely it may be top sealing ring.
That's about right. The oil line and fuel lines are separate, you'll need to disconnect both to lift the tank out. Also pull out the rubber grommet around the reservoir sight glass. Be careful with the sight glass.
There's only three places it can really leak from. 1. Sight glass could be loose or cracked 2. Oil line itself old and brittle/cracked 3. The bung the oil line attaches to could be loose or the gasket wore out. To tighten this, you need about 18" of socket extensions and I think a 13mm (might be a 14mm or 17mm, you'll be able to feel the socket seat onto the nut).
